I guess I should start out with telling you a bit about myself and our decision to get healthy...
I am a 24 year old Mom to a beautiful 4 1/2 year old girl. I am married to the love of my life, who is 28 years old. Right now we are struggling through secondary infertility. We got pregnant with my daughter and it was a huge surprise, so we thought adding to our family would be easy. Oh, were we wrong. We decided when our daughter was 8 months old to try adding a sibling to the mix (I know, we're crazy). I had gained 30lbs during pregnancy and immediately lost it after my daughter was born, but during the next months of her life I gained it all back and more. I've yo-yoed with my weight over the last few years, and am currently 50lbs heavier than when I first got pregnant with her, and am 130lbs above my ideal goal weight.
Man, that's a daunting number when it's out there for the whole world to see.
I am determined, though.
We also want to get healthy for our daughter. We want to be around for her for as long as we can. We want her to see our healthy lifestyle and mimic it so that she can be here for as long as she can. We want her to be healthy and make healthy choices so she can live a full and wonderful life.
So there you have it folks. Our reason? Our children, current and future.
What are your reasons?
